Q: What is Psychotherapy?
Psychotherapists are trained to work relationally with individuals, couples and families.
Do you find your arguments go around in circles? Have you come to feel isolated within a relationship? Has your family’s communication broken down?
If you are finding difficulties within your relationships psychotherapy offers support to change your behaviours within them.
Q: Can Psychotherapy help?
I believe that when someone is requesting help, they are already half way to making the necessary changes in their life. They have already recognised that things are not the way they want them to be.
By contacting a therapist you have already made a positive first step in seeking out emotional support.
In my experience most of the concerns and struggles people face in life can be thought about in terms of their many relationships, both current and in the past.
Whether you have a session on your own, come as a couple or with family members, exploring these relationships and making sense of them, people find a way of moving forward. A key factor of psychotherapy is understanding each other’s experiences and views, which leads to an appreciation of each other’s needs.
